We live in a world defined by change, for the better or worse it is an undeniable fact that we are far from a static society. Every second we are confronted with choices, whether it is simply deciding which song to play next on your ipod or as involved as deciding what you want to do with the rest of your life.
Every individual is forced to make both mundane decisions and decidedly more difficult ones, regardless the confrontation each decision makes an impact on the course of our lives. The thing is our society is such a tangle of options, decisions, mistakes, and successes that despite the course of action there is always another one that immediately presents itself. There are no straight roads, only a continual fork where we are forced to choose which way to go.
The way in which our lives are structured creates a hectic and fast paced situation where it seems impossible to keep up sometimes. However we should take into consideration the positive change that our continual decisions can create. Our world is full of people fighting for causes and instigating change for the better in our world.
Art is one of the many choices in our world today. Artists have a powerful tool by which to make choices and take chances. A work of art can be a choice to make a statement and have an impact on the tangled mass of decisions and uncertainty that threatens everyone equally.
